Celeste is a variation of a quilt designed by embroidery design house OESD. Additional embroidery elements from decorative stitches built into the sewing machine were added to accompany the embroidery elements digitized by OESD. The decorative stitches are the straight lines and pivotal lines of embroidery stitching. These take quite a bit of time to sew as it is not an automatic process as with the embroidery elements, these techniques are guided by the sewer and are rather time consuming but allows a designer to completely embroidery a piece of fabric in unlimited ways and is actually a great deal of fun.
The Celeste quilt measures approximately 60”x60” and is designed to be a wall hanging as there is a sleeve on the back to insert a rod through for hanging. All fabrics are 100% cotton with a thin polyester batting. I would not recommend washing this wall hanging because it is just that, meant to be hung on a wall, not designed to snuggle under or use as a throw because it is rather stiff and heavily embellished. Keep in mind this quilt is made of 100% cotton fabrics so it will arrive with some wrinkles and folds from being folded in shipping. A light press with plenty of steam from an iron or a professional steamer will relax the wrinkles and allow it to hang flat and look its best.
